MUSIC - LEVEL 01

Using found samples of Thailand drums and instruments processed in NI Reaktor, I've found a way to create a serie of eight tracks that represent each level. Level 01 is confused, minimal, obsessive and represent for sure a change, a decision, the pursue of a goal. Also, it represents the pain, the slow progress, the dedication and so it's dirty, repetitive, hypnotic.

BALANCE BETWEEN MIND, VISION AND BODY LIMITS

None would became a Nak Muay without a dedicated effort that brings pain and suffering way more than anything else at first. From cardio to strenght, flexibility to technique, your body is challenged more than the norm and your mind has to be ready to handle this strong and very demanding martial art to fully become a fighter.

ADAPTED DIETETIC

Practicing sports seriously ask for a correct way to eat and drink in order to optimize both your body and general health. 

DAILY PUSHES

The most basic and known movement to keep your arms strong and dynamic. Every week day at wake up in alternance with abs.

DAILY ABS

The most basic and known movement to keep your middle body resistant. Every week day at wake up in alternance with pushes.

WEEKLY YOGA SESSION

Optimized Yoga for Muay Thai High Kicks in order to develop legs flexibility and elasticity.

BI-WEEKLY MUAY THAI TRAINING

Every Tuesday and Friday, 2 hours

Reading about technical strikes prepare your mind to better learn the action, fighter stories are always a source of humility and motivation. Learning about Theravada Buddhism, Muay Boran, Yoga, the origins...

DISCIPLINE AND EVOLUTIVE GOALS

Started pushes and abs at 25/day, increased to 50/day, now at 100/day. Preparing for level 02 that will include weighted shadow boxing, heavy bag, and more... With nicer days and practicable paths, footing...

MUSIC - LEVEL 02

Using found samples of Thailand drums and instruments processed in NI Reaktor, I've found a way to create a serie of eight tracks that represent each level. Level 02 is still minimal, repetitive but should represent more the straight and hard line between discipline and passivity. The groove is more tight and heavy than for Level 01, more dark.

THE ADDICTIVE LEARNING CURVE OF DISCIPLINE

From early morning training to bi-weekly lessons including full days at work and general life responsibilities, discipline is key. There are moments when doubt and negative questions comes to the mind, it's natural and it's quckly swiped away as soon as I put on the boxing gloves and start to hit the heavy bag. Wednesday mornings are the hardest for me... My body still suffer from the training, the lesson of the previous evening, my mind switch in a mode that is like "Monday and Tuesday done... Still 3 to survive..." It last a couple of hours and then my mood evolve, I think about why I love doing this and how lucky I am at 42 years old to be still in full control of my mind and body. Like my beautiful doctor says: You're perfect ;-) Hopefully even more next time I see her... 

I've heard that an old friend of mine who is 42 years old as well has cancer and diabet, it makes me think deeper. It makes me follow tightly the daily routine I prepared, and again it tells me how lucky I am.

DIETETIC - Corona Virus COVID-19

Rice, vegetables, so many fruits, milk, honey, fish...  My love for cooking is in full expression and I feel way more healthier than ever since I drastically changed everything. Hopefully, restrictions due to COVID-19 will not alter much my new dietetic.

Every Tuesday and Friday, 2 hours. Due to COVID-19, no training until 3 April.

A NEW VISION

So Level 02 is slightly affected by Corona Virus COVID-19 national restrictions but it's still an evolution... I added heavy lifts and lifted shadow boxing, bought equipment for daily Abs, Pushes and Yoga. With two weeks without real club training, I'm going to walk more with my dog, to learn more about Yoga, Theravada Buddhism and at top of all, I'm gonna optimize my time schedule even more.

The number 8 is of the highest importance as it defines the core idea of both Muay Thai & Yoga.

I was born the 8th month of 1977 so the number 8 is as well of the highest importance to me… 

Wildtek is based on three pillars:

Wild: The Arctic, its wilderness, unpredictability, vulnerability, beauty, loneliness…

Tek: The Technology, the use of futuristic hardware and software tools to communicate…

Both Muay Thai and Yoga comes to unify the two first pillars through the practice of brutal martial arts and zen attitude of meditation. 

Muay Thai influence clearly the harder tracks when Yoga influence obviously the chilly ones…

From now, each and every production coming out of Wildtek studio will be strictly limited to 8 tracks (Audio/Midi) and effects limited to a multiple number minor to 8 (1/2/4).
